Oyster Card

Oyster Cards

An Oyster card is the best way to pay for travel on London's public transport system. The Oyster card is a credit card size access card. You will need to pay for a travel card or put money on for pay as you go. This can be done online, over the phone or at the stations. There is currently no mechanism to do this on busses or bus stops. The Oyster cards work on the London buss, Tube, DLR, tram, London Overground and some National Rail services. If you are using National Rail, please check that the station you are departing from and arriving at acept Oyster cards or you may be penalised. If you travel on pay and go by tube you need to touch in at the station you depart from and touch out at the station you arrive at. If you don't, they will charge you a penalty fair. If this has been done by mistake, you can get a refund on the day the the ticket office, or over the phone (currently : 0845 330 9876 ). It is worth checking your usage, which you can do at the ticket machines as this often happens.
